K.Rhodes Traded to AZ

Ok, the Jets traded Kerry to AZ for a 4th this year and a 7th in 2011. I seriously don't get it. This deal just sucks.

I don't like it either, but Rex had obviously already decided he wanted Rhodes gone. The reason for the low price tag was the 2 million dollar roster bonus the Jets would have had to pay him compromised their bargaining power. It should be interesting to see what moves come next because Eric Smith is definitely NOT the answer!


EDIT - I've been thinking more about this and I just don't understand why Tanny would create a need at safety when he didn't have to. A similar thing was done last year when they released Chris Baker. IMO it's just a matter of time before Tanny's penchant for making moves and giving up draft picks comes back to bite the team in its collective ass.

Rex challenged Rhodes with the benching and didn't get the response he was looking for. His head wasn't really focussed on football with too much partying, and clashing with coaches. Eric Smith may have done enough to win over the new coaching staff. If so, that's quite a change in the direction of his career and kudos to him. I'm thinking that's just coachspeak and there's more to come.
